Excelling as principal at B. Riley Financial since 2020, Peter J. Lynch specializes in guiding companies through complex real estate restructurings and serves as a trusted adviser to C-suite and board-level executives. Having held numerous executive leadership and operational management roles over the years for publicly traded and venture capital-based companies, he has proven to be extremely effective in developing teams and bringing out the best in each member—which he considers his most notable professional achievement. Prior to joining B. Riley, he served in the same capacity at A&G Real Estate Partners from 2012 to 2019 and was previously active as a principal and senior managing director at DJM Realty LLC from 2006 to 2012.
Between 2004 and 2005, Mr. Lynch was Chief Operating Officer and president at Babystyle—a venture capital company specializing in maternity and baby apparel and accessories. He previously found success as the executive vice president of Worldwide Operations for the Warner Bros. Studios Store from 1997 to 2004, president of the retail division at Guess Kids, part of Guess? Inc., from 1993 to 1995, and Chief Financial Officer and an executive vice president of finance and corporate planning at Stor Furnishings International from 1991 to 1992. He began his illustrious career as vice president of inventory control, internal audit, and loss prevention at Joske’s Department Store from 1978 to 1981, followed up by a role as the executive vice president of finance and operations at Emporium Capwell from 1981 to 1990.
Having accrued so much experience, Mr. Lynch has been able to utilize his expertise to handle a variety of challenging assignments for a multitude of retail clients; in addition to his primary responsibilities, he has been able to utilize his expertise to handle a variety lent his expertise and guidance to such companies as Vitamin Shoppe, Forever 21, Brookstone, Le Cordon Bleu, Pier 1, Borders, Mattress Giant, West Marine, and Providence St. Joseph Health, among several others. Currently on the board of directors for Adventis Health Glendale Hospital and Providence, he also serves as chairman of the Community Services Board and the network regional chair for the Pacific United States branch of the Young Presidents’ Organization Global Retail Network. He has previously been affiliated with the boards of Valley Services of Providence St. Joseph Health Foundation, York College of Pennsylvania, Goodwill Southern California, Kidspace Children’s Museum, and Design Within Reach.
In the next five years, Mr. Lynch aspires to be a lifelong learner and remain active in the Young Presidents’ Organization and Adventist Health Glendale Hospital as he believes he can make a difference in the community.
